Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) Pod Lead/Technical Architect

United States
Full Time
Experienced

Position Overview

The Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) Pod Lead / Technical Architect is responsible for leading the migration and implementation of analytics solutions from Adobe Analytics (AA) to Customer Journey Analytics (CJA). This role combines deep platform expertise with technical leadership, guiding pod delivery while ensuring accurate recreation of analytics logic, reporting structures, and governance standards within the CJA environment.

Because migration utilities do not fully translate AA Workspace components into CJA, this role requires hands-on expertise rebuilding projects, segments, and calculated metrics directly within the CJA interface. The position demands strong working knowledge of AA administrative configurations — including marketing channels, processing rules, and classifications — to ensure continuity of measurement and reporting integrity.

You will collaborate closely with analytics teams, data engineers, platform architects, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable analytics environments and ensure successful adoption of CJA.

Key Responsibilities

Migration Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead pod execution for Adobe Analytics to Customer Journey Analytics migration initiatives

  • Define migration strategies and component recreation plans

  • Oversee validation of migrated data, logic parity, and reporting accuracy

  • Coordinate pod workload, technical reviews, and delivery timelines

Workspace Reconstruction & Implementation

  • Rebuild AA Workspace projects manually within the CJA interface

  • Recreate segments, calculated metrics, and derived components

  • Validate functional parity and business logic alignment

  • Optimize projects for usability, scalability, and performance

Adobe Analytics Configuration Translation

  • Interpret AA administrative configurations including:

    • Marketing channel processing rules

    • Classifications

    • Processing rules

    • Variable configurations and attribution logic

  • Translate legacy configuration logic into CJA-compatible structures

  • Identify gaps or redesign opportunities during migration

Technical Architecture & Governance

  • Provide architectural oversight for dataset design and reporting frameworks

  • Ensure alignment with enterprise data models and XDM structures

  • Establish standards for naming conventions, component reuse, and governance

  • Guide long-term scalability and maintainability of analytics environments

Collaboration & Stakeholder Enablement

  • Partner with analytics teams to align reporting expectations

  • Work with data engineering teams on dataset readiness and validation

  • Advise architects on analytics architecture implications

  • Mentor pod members and provide technical guidance

Quality Assurance & Validation

  • Validate migrated components for accuracy and completeness

  • Perform QA across projects, segments, and metrics

  • Identify discrepancies between AA and CJA outputs

  • Produce documentation outlining migration decisions and logic mappings

Required Skills & Experience

Platform Expertise

  • Deep experience with Adobe Analytics Workspace

  • Strong hands-on experience with Customer Journey Analytics Workspace

  • Proven experience executing AA → CJA migrations

  • Understanding of dataset-driven analytics and event-based reporting models

Adobe Analytics Configuration Knowledge

  • Marketing channel configuration

  • Processing rules

  • Classifications

  • Segment and calculated metric construction

  • Workspace project design and optimization

Leadership & Architecture Skills

  • Experience leading delivery pods or technical workstreams

  • Ability to guide migration planning and technical decision-making

  • Strong stakeholder communication and technical documentation skills

  • Ability to mentor junior consultants/engineers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Adobe Experience Platform datasets and schema structures

  • Experience aligning analytics implementations with enterprise data strategies

  • Exposure to RTCDP, AEP, or Web SDK integrations

  • Experience working within enterprise MarTech ecosystems

What Success Looks Like

  • Accurate recreation of AA components within CJA

  • Seamless reporting continuity post-migration

  • Governed, scalable CJA project structures

  • High pod productivity and delivery confidence

  • Strong stakeholder trust in analytics accuracy and usability
